HAZARD — Thurdays on the Triangle is returning for its second year. The mini festival begins May 26 and will take place in downtown Hazard’s Triangle Park every other Thursday through Sept. 1 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.

The idea behind Thursdays on the Triangle is to bring some zest to the downtown area, while also giving exposure to the work of local artists, vendors and musicians. Last year’s event was a success. Therefore, organizers of the event decided to bring the mini festival back for a second run in 2016.

This year the festivities will once again feature food, live music, live artist demonstrations, plus arts and crafts vendors. The farmers market vendors will also be set up at the festival. Anyone, who is interested in participating as a vendor, musician or artist, can contact the Chamber of Commerce at 606-439-2659. Thursdays on the Triangle also has a Facebook page. There is no cost to set up as a vendor, but all vendors must pre-register.

Thurdays on the Triangle began thanks to a grant MACED secured last year and the help of other sponsors, who were intrigued by the idea. This year, the Hazard Perry County Chamber of Commerce, MACED, Perry County Community Foundation, Hazard Perry County Tourism, and the City of Hazard are sponsoring the festival.

Everyone is invited to Triangle Park to shop local vendors and enjoy music, food and festivities during Thursdays on the Triangle. This is the schedule of dates for the festival.

May 26

June 9 and June 23

July 7 and July 21

August 4 and August 18

September 1
