HAZARD — June 4 is the date for the Housing Development Alliance’s Perry County Repair Affair 2016. Repair Affair is a one day event where groups of local volunteers join together to repair multiple homes in a community. Typical projects for this event include repairing porches, roofs and wheelchair ramps for elderly or disabled persons. Individuals and businesses also contribute to the event as sponsors.
This year, 10 homes are scheduled for repair in Perry County. Volunteers are needed to help make the day a success. All of the home repairs are done free of charge for the seniors and disabled community members, who are receiving help that day. However, there is still cost involved with the repairs. Therefore, sponsors are needed as well as volunteers.
Anyone, who would like to volunteer or receive more information about sponsorship, can call the Housing Development Alliance office at 606-436-0497 or email Janie Britton; [email protected] Donations can be made by sending a check to the HDA offices at P.O. Box 7284, Hazard, Kentucky 41702 or electronically on the HDA website; housingdevelopmentalliance.org.
