HAZARD — A new pharmacy is now open on N. Main Street in Hazard. Mountain Community Pharmacy is locally owned. Elected officials and representatives of the Hazard Perry County Chamber of Commerce were present at the ribbon cutting ceremony Friday.

“We would like to welcome all new customers to come in and give us a visit,” said owner Jeff Sandlin.

Mountain Community Pharmacy is located at 1908 N. Main Street, in the same building as the After Hours Clinic in Walkertown, and the pharmacy is open from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. weekdays, as well as 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Although the pharmacy is located in the same building as the clinic, Mountain Community Pharmacy is privately owned, therefore all customers are welcome, regardless of whether or not the customer is a patient of the clinic.

“We are always glad to see any business open in town,” Judge Executive Scott Alexander said at the ceremony, “But we are especially happy to see a locally owned business open.”

Carrie Combs is the pharmacist at Mountain Community Pharmacy. The telephone number to call the pharmacy is 606-487-0023.
