HAZARD — The citizens of Fort Branch in Perry County have fought for a long time to bring public water to their community. According to the Perry County Fiscal Court, the wait for those citizens will not be much longer. The following announcement was released Tuesday by the Perry County Fiscal Court.
Construction has begun on the Fort Branch Waterline Extension Project. Customer sign-ups will be held August 3 and 4 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. at the Perry County Water and Sewer office located at 10638 South Kentucky Highway 15, Scuddy, Kentucky 41760.
Residents should bring verification of all household income to the sign-ups. Tap fees will be waived for all households that sign up during the construction period. Low to Moderate income households will qualify for assistance in running the service line to their home.
