HAZARD — Perry County lost a beloved citizen on July 26. Danny Rose passed away at the age of 56. Rose served as an attorney in Hazard for many years, with his office located downtown.

Danny Rose’s personality resonated with those who knew him well. In the days following his passing, friends and acquaintances took to social media to offer condolences and share stories of Rose’s warm sense of humor, sharp wit and friendly spirit.

Among the many comments made in remembrance of Rose by his friends were May he rest in peace, He was an amazing man and He had a heart of gold.

“The town of Hazard lost a great man and a wonderful attorney. He represented me and I thought the world of him. My prayers and heart are with Danny Rose and his family. He will be greatly missed,” said a former client.

Danny Rose’s parents, Rufus Rose and Flora Aline Alexander Rose, passed away before him, as did his brother, Rufus Wayne Rose. Danny Rose is survived by his wife, Lana Rose, as well as one son, Alexander Rose of Richmond, and one daughter, Aline Rose of Hazard.

Visitation for Danny Rose will be held on Saturday, July 30, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Maggard’s Mtn. View Chapel in Hazard. A memorial service will follow the visitation at 3:00 p.m. in Maggard’s Mtn. View Chapel with Rev. Ronald Davidson officiating.

Along with his loving family members and an abundance of friends, Danny Rose also leaves behind a community that embraced his presence and will miss him deeply.
