HAZARD — The Hazard Rotary Club Gala has become a highly anticipated annual event within the community. The gala offers an evening of music, food, fun and games to benefit great causes. This year, proceeds from the gala went to the Hazard Rotary Imagination Library along with other charitable causes in the Hazard area.
A large crowd funneled into HCTC’s First Federal Center for Saturday’s event. Halfway to Hazard lent their performing talents to the gala again this year. The audience enjoyed the H2H show following dinner, which was provided by Coal River Grille. Four attendees split the $8,000 jackpot for the gala’s raffle. A wide array of prizes, provided by local sponsors, were up for grabs throughout the evening, including a 51 inch flatscreen television.
The Dolly Parton Imagination Library was founded by Dolly Parton in 1995. As part of this fantastic program, The Hazard Rotary Imagination Library mails one new, age appropriate book each month to all registered children in Perry County from birth until age five for free.
