Small business owners and entrepreneurs are invited to the Eastern Kentucky Economic Development Summit scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 13, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Kentucky Career Center JobSight, located at 412 Roy Campbell Drive in Hazard.
The first ever Eastern Kentucky Economic Development Summit is sponsored by Appalachian Regional Healthcare, Appalachian Wireless, Big Blue Smokehouse in Hazard, the Hazard/Perry County Chamber of Commerce, the Hazard Community and Technical College, the Perry County Economic Development Board, Community Trust Bank, MACED (Mountain Association for Community Economic Development), Kentucky Career Center JobSight, and the Eastern Kentucky Concentrated Employment Program, Inc. The event is designed to help business owners and entrepreneurs learn how to access many free services available to help grow, expand, and maintain your business, including ecommerce and planning for self employment. Workshops for ecommerce and planning for self employment are scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at the event.
“Small businesses are the backbone of our economy,” said Trish Adams, industry liaison for EKCEP, one of several organizations participating in the summit. “It’s important that our region’s small business owners know where to go if they need help.
