HAZARD—The Foundation for Appalachian Kentucky is set to kick-off the 5th Annual Run For The Hills Charity Challenge on Friday, July 31 at Coal River Grille in Hazard, Kentucky.

Run For The Hills is a 3-month giving campaign (August 1 – October 31) that provides an opportunity for all of us to show our generosity of spirit by supporting 19 local non-profits. Funds raised by each of the nonprofit partners during the campaign goes to support their generation operations. Matching funds raised by the Foundation through “Charity Challengers” provides up to $10,000 for a permanent endowment fund for each partnering organization. Over the past four years, Run For the Hills has raised over $800,000 that has remained here in Perry County.

This year’s kick-off event will feature both indoor and outdoor dining opportunities from 6:00 – 10:00 p.m., with both buffet and menu items available. WSGS will be on hand with a live remote! DJ music will be available outside from 6-8 p.m., and Perry County’s own Timothy Baker will perform inside from 8-10 p.m. A silent auction will also be available!

Thanks to the tremendous generosity of Coal River Grille, a portion of the proceeds from the event will provide Charity Challenger matching funds for the 2015 Run For The Hills Charity Challenge! Partners for this year’s Run For The Hills are:

Appalachian Arts Alliance
