HAZARD — A community choir is being formed for citizens in Hazard and Perry County to promote and preserve choral singing in our area. The first rehearsal will be Monday, Sept. 26, 6:30 p.m. at Bowman Memorial United Methodist Church on High Street in Hazard. There is no cost for participation. Singers age 13 through adult are welcome.
Through December, the choir will focus on music for the “Christmas in a Small Town” presentation. The presentation will salute the influence of radio stations WKIC and WSGS on the Hazard community and the choir will be singing as part of the presentation. Plans are also in development to provide music for the Community Thanksgiving Service and present an additional, more formal Christmas Concert.
Reading music is helpful but not required. The choir will learn everything during rehearsals. For more information, contact Letha Patterson at 606-439-4369 or email@example.com.
