Grand jury hands down indictments

HAZARD — The Perry County Grand Jury handed down indictments last week.

* Elizabeth King, 30, of Busy was indicted this month on one count of no registration plates, one count of no registration receipt, one count of failure to produce insurance card, one count of operating on a suspended or revoked operators license, one count of first-degree possession of controlled substance, one count of first-degree possession of controlled substance, one count of third-degree possession of controlled substance and one count of illegal possession of legend drug. Bail was set in the amount of $10,000 cash plus home incarceration and MCR in the case.

* Ricky Neace Jr., 38, of Vicco was indicted on one count of second-degree burglary, one count of theft by unlawful taking less than $500 and one count of second-degree persistent felony offender. Bail was set in the amount of $5,000 cash plus home incarceration and MCR in the case.

* John T. Calandros, 59, was indicted this month on one count of first offense DUI, one count of first-degree possession of a controlled substance and one count of operating on suspended or revoked operator’s license. Bail was set in the amount of $5,000 cash plus home incarceration and MCR in the case.

* Benjamin A. Bowling, 34, of Hazard was indicted on one count of first offense trafficking in marijuana, one count of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, one count of drug paraphernalia, one count of second offense DUI, one count of failure to produce insurance card, one count of illegal possession of legend drug. one count of failure to wear seat belts and prescription drugs not in the proper container. Bail was set in the amount of $10,000 cash plus home incarceration and MCR.

* Charles H. Hamblin, 35, of Hazard was indicted this month on one count of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, prescription drugs not in the proper container and one count of second-offense persistent felony offender. Bail was set in the amount of $10,000 cash plus MCR in the case.

* Paul Stapleton, 56, of Richmond was indicted on one count of alcohol intoxication, one count of carrying a concealed deadly weapon and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Bail was set in the amount of $5,000 cash plus home incarceration and MCR in the case.

* Joseph Sizemore, 33, of Hazard was indicted this month on one count of second-degree escape and one count of theft by unlawful taking $500 or more. Bail was set in the amount of $5,000 cash plus home incarceration and MCR.

* Kathy Slover Whitaker, 49, of Hazard was indicted on three counts of fraudulent use of ID card or electronic code for benefits. A $5,000 cash bond was set in the case.

* Rodney D. Williams, 32, of Bulan was indicted this month on one count of tampering with physical evidence, one count of public intoxication and one count of first-degree possession of a controlled substance. Bail was set in the amount of $10,000 cash plus MCR and home incarceration in the case.

* James Spencer Jr., 39, of Bonnyman was indicted on one count of theft by unlawful taking $500 or more but less than $10,000 and one count of theft by deception. Bail was set in the amount of $5,000 cash plus home incarceration and MCR.

* Sarah Reynolds, 33, of Hazard was indicted this month on one count of theft by unlawful taking more than $500 and one count of tampering with physical evidence. Bail was set in the amount of $5,000 cash plus MCR.

* Justin Costello of Vicco was indicted on one count of second-degree escape and one count of tampering with physical evidence. Bail was set in the amount of $10,000 plus MCR.

* Harold Hayes, 35, of Busy was indicted this month on one count of second-degree escape and one count of theft by failure to make required disposition. Bail was set in the amount of $10,000 cash plus MCR.

* Mary Phillips, 53, of Hazard was indicted one one count of tampering with physical evidence, one count of drug paraphernalia and one count of first-degree possession of a controlled substance. Bail was set in the amount of $5,000 cash plus home incarceration and MCR.

* Roger D. Henson and Mitchell L. Jones were indicted this month on one count of third-degree burglary, one count of tampering with physical evidence and one count of first-degree persistent felony offender. Bail was set in the amount of $10,000 cash plus home incarceration and MCR.

* Austin Salley, 21, of Cornettsville was indicted on one count of manufacturing methamphetamine and second-degree persistent felony offender. Bail was set in the amount of $15,000 plus MCR and home incarceration.

* Donald Gilbert, 54, of Hazard was indicted this month one on of distribution of matter portraying sexual performance by minor and five counts of possession of matter portraying sexual performance by minor. Bail was set in the amount of $10,000 cash plus home incarceration and MCR.

* Della A. Hurt, 28, of Lond was indicted on one count of theft by unlawful taking less than $500 and one count of tampering with physical evidence. Bail was set in the amount of $5,000 cash plus home incarceration and MCR.

* Brandon S. Fletcher, 30, of Bonnyman was indicted this month on one count of theft by unlawful taking or disposition auto. Bail was set in the amount of $10,000 cash plus home incarceration and MCR.

* Ronald R. Sampsell, 28, of Hazard was indicted on one count of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, one count of prescription drugs not in the proper container, one count of drug paraphernalia, falsely reporting an incident and second-degree persistent felony offender. Bail was set in the amount of $10,000 cash plus home incarceration and MCR.

* Michael Adams, 37, of Viper was indicted this month on one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Bail was set in the amount of $10,000 cash plus home incarceration and MCR.
