HAZARD — The Appalachian Arts Alliance presents Little Theater performing The Big Meal by Dan LeFranc. Dates for the show are October 27th and 28th at 7:00 p.m. and October 29th at 1:00 p.m. at The First Federal Center at HCTC.

On the 29th, there will be a luncheon available prior to the performance for an additional fee. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for children and senior citizens. Tickets for the luncheon (including performance) are $25. To make reservations for the luncheon, call Terry Thies at 606-436-2848.

This is a synopsis of the play published by Samuel French:

“Somewhere in America, in a typical suburban restaurant on a typical night, Sam and Nicole first meet. Sparks fly. And so begins an expansive tale that traverses five generations of a modern family, from first kiss to final goodbye. A stunning, big-hearted play that spans nearly eighty years in roughly ninety minutes, The Big Meal tells the extraordinary story of an ordinary family.”

The cast members for this performance are Man 1: Richard Counts; Woman 1: Jill Robertson; Man 2: Timothy W. Deaton II; Woman 2: Fran Everage; Man 3: Jon Jon Wood; Woman 3: Heather Mullins; Girl: Chloe Craft; Boy: Jonathan Counts. Characters go by Man and Woman because each have several roles. The play is rated PG-13 for mild language.

The play is directed by Terry Thies. Little Theater, under the direction of Thies, has brought entertainment and enlightenment to Hazard for many years.
