PERRY COUNTY — A single-vehicle collision on Hwy. 80 led to one Knott County man being airlifted to Pikeville Medical Center in critical condition on Saturday.
Peter K. Combs, 30, of Knott County was airlifted to Pikeville Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition.
Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 13 says around 6:30 p.m. Saturday, they received a call of a single-vehicle accident on Hwy. 80 near the junction of 476.

A preliminary investigation by KSP concluded that Combs lost control of the vehicle and had struck an embankment. The force caused his vehicle to flip and land on the roadway overturned.
KSP says Combs was ejected from the vehicle. He wasn’t wearing a seat belt during the accident, KSP says.
Combs is still listed as in critical condition.
Alcohol may have played a factor in the crash, KSP says.
The accident remains under the investigation of KSP Post 13.
