HAZARD — The Kentucky River Regional Animal Shelter in Hazard called out to anyone looking for a pet to consider cats they had housed at the facility last week. The shelter is full and all of the rescues the shelter works with are full, as well.
For the cats in these pictures, adoption last week meant more than giving them a home. It also meant saving their lives. According to the shelter, these cats had only until Oct. 29 to be adopted. Sadly, this is an issue the shelter often faces. When looking for a pet, the Animal Shelter is always a great place to start.
All of the cats awaiting adoption last week were spayed and neutered. They had also been vaccinated and treated for worms and fleas. In an effort to help save these kitties, the adoption fee was lowered to $10.
The Kentucky River Regional Animal Shelter is located at 194 Animal Shelter Lane in Hazard. The shelter can also be found on Facebook. Their telephone number is 606-439-4064, and their website is kyriveranimalshelter.com.
