HAZARD — The Eastern Kentucky Veterans Center showed their appreciation on Veterans Day with special planned events. On Nov. 11, a giant American Flag was on display at the center and a car show also was held.

The Flag at the Veterans Center is 30 feet by 60 feet, and it drapes from the side of the building. The Flag stands as tribute, not only to Veterans Day, but also to the U.S. Marine Corps’ birthday. About 90 vehicles participated in the car show. There was also music and a quilt presentation in the auditorium.

The Eastern Kentucky Veterans Center holds events throughout the year for veterans. The public is invited to attend and spend some talking talking with America’s heroes.
