Staff Report

Looking for something to do to get in the holiday spirit? Perry County has the answer! It’s Christmas in a Small Town! For a weekend of holiday fun, come and join us on Dec. 9 and 10!

You can check out our ice skating rink and our 45-foot toboggan sledding hill at The Triangle in downtown Hazard on Friday night from 5-9 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.

On Saturday, we’ll have the Christmas Parade at 4 p.m. and Santa Claus will lead the way! After the parade, he, Mrs. Claus and one of the elves will be available for free photos at the Triangle. And there will also be horse-drawn carriage rides available Saturday afternoon.

At 6:30, the “Christmas In A Small Town” musical performance, featuring the Hazard Area Community Choir, will be held at The Forum. This year’s event will be a salute to our very own WKIC and WSGS with many of your Christmas favorites.

You can also drive or stroll down Main Street to enjoy the numerous Christmas tree displays in Hazard and visit area vendors in the Triangle to do some of your Christmas shopping, keeping your dollars right here in eastern Kentucky.

And finally, Judge Alexander has spoken to Santa personally and he’s been assured that we will have snow at the triangle.

Mark it on your calendar! Come join us in Perry County on December 9 & 10 for a great family weekend of Christmas fun!
