HAZARD — The City of Hazard issued a boil water advisory for a Perry County community on August 10.
According to a release by Grady Varney, city manager of Hazard, a boil water advisory was put in place by city officials, for residents in Harrison Branch to Dog House in Lost Creek. Residents of the affected areas are urged to boil their water prior to use as a threat of bacterial contamination exists.
The boil water advisory will remain in effect until the the threat of contamination has been eliminated and water samples show the water to be safe for human consumption and use.
City officials will notify residents of the affected areas when the boil water advisory has been lifted.
