VICCO — The Perry County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) executed a search warrant at a residence in Vicco. PCSO arrested two people and seized cocaine, a large amount of cash, and several firearms.
The raid happened on Jan. 7 around Noon at the residence of Darrin Sumner on 1531 Georges Branch Rd in Vicco. During the raid, PCSO seized a large amount of cocaine, $40,000 in cash, and several long gun firearms.
Chief Deputy Sheriff Tony Eversole said the search warrant came as a result of a 5-month-long undercover investigation. He said he was appreciative of the community for giving The Sheriff’s Office tips on the alleged drug trafficking at that residence.
During the execution of the search warrant, Ricky Sumner, 56, of Red Fox and Timothy G. Couch, 27, of Sassafras were arrested.
Ricky had a bench warrant out for his arrest, while Couch was arrested for first-degree trafficking in cocaine.
According to an arrest citation, police found a small bag of cocaine in Couch’s underwear.
Chief Deputy Sheriff Eversole said the evidence against Sumner will be presented to the Perry County Grand Jury and he expects Sumner will be indicted on drug trafficking charges.
He also said Sumner was on parole for previous drug charges when the raid occurred.
Chief Deputy Sheriff Eversole said the investigation in the case is currently ongoing.
