HAZARD— The City of Hazard has issued a boil water advisory on August 12 for the areas of Coal Harbor to the head of Big Creek and Avawam.

Residents of the affected areas are urged to boil their water prior to use and human consumption due to a threat of potential bacterial contamination.

The boil water advisory will remain in effect until the threat of bacterial contamination has been eliminated and water samples show that the water quality is safe for human use and consumption.

City officials will notify citizens when the boil water advisory has been lifted.
