CHAVIES — Since the announcement of Hope House’s opening, several groups and individuals throughout the area have shown support and offered a helping hand. One such group is Mountain Comprehensive Care Center (MCCC). Along with Chavies Elementary, MCCC organized a drive to collect an item Hope House needs that might often be overlooked.

The initiative was named “Wipe Out Homelessness,” and the idea was to collect toilet paper the new shelter could use. People within the community responded, and last week, MCCC collected the donations, which were available at Chavies Elementary, and delivered the supply to Hope House in Hazard.

Hope House is an initiative launched by Journey Christian Church. So far, the effort has received great support. More information about Hope House can be found on the shelter’s Facebook page, facebook.com/hazardhopehouse.
