HAZARD— Wednesday afternoon, Shawn Noble and Derek Moore escaped from the custody of the Kentucky River Regional Jail. The two were being transported in a van, when they kicked the back window out near the bypass. Moore was captured a short time after he attempted to run; he had been imprisioned for two counts of armed robbery. Noble gave the Hazard Police a longer chase, but failed to escape the officers after leaving part of his jumpsuit next to the railroad, where they ultimately captured him. Local schools were put on lock down during the pursuit, but no one was hurt or injured. The inmates did not resist arrest and will face additional charges as they are being further held at the Kentucky River Regional Jail.
