HAZARD—Perry County Central’s Commodore Players are set to debut this year’s student directed performance of “Sleeping Beauty and the Beast” on March 27. Senior director Haley Madden will make her directing debut with this production.

“I’m really excited,” Madden said when asked about the upcoming production.

There was some concern about having to delay the production because of the amount of school days that PCC has missed, but Madden said there would be no delay.

“The play’s coming along nicely in spite of the weather,” Madden said. “I have a wonderful cast.”

Phillip Neace, drama teacher at PCC, also said that he was not concerned about the weather’s impact on the performance.

“I have every confidence in Haley,” Neace said.

He went on to say that not only was he proud of Madden but the cast and crew.

“We have always had great casts but this year’s crew is exceptional. Makeup, costumes will blow people away,” Neace said.
