HAZARD—A car fire at the Hazard Wal-Mart Wednesday afternoon has left one Wal-Mart employee without a car.

Crews with the Hazard Fire Department Station 2 responded to a call just before 2 p.m. of a vehicle fire in the Hazard Wal-mart parking lot in front of the lawn and garden section.

When crews arrived on the scene, they began putting out engine flames in a blue Ford Tempo, the owner of which was Felicia Simpson, a cashier at the store.

Simpson explained she pulled into the parking lot and the car began to smoke, and only got worse the farther she drove into the parking lot. There has been no word as to what exactly caused the fire.

Simpson said she did not sustain any injuries, and was the only passenger in the car.
