LOTTS CREEK- A Perry County family is left without a home after a structure fire engulfed their house on Monday.


Shortly before noon on May 12, a home located at 26 Chestnut Lane just off of Lotts Creek Road in Hazard caught fire and prompted neighboors to call authorities after seeing flames at the house.


Officials reported that members of the Lotts Creek Volunteer Fire Department were joined by Jakes Branch Volunteer fire fighters to put the fire out. The entire structure was fully involved when fire fighters arrived on scene shortly after the call came in.


It took approximately three hours for fire fighters to extinguish the fire. Noone was reported to be home at the time of the fire.


Neighboors reported that the house was home to a family of four; a man, his wife and two children. No cause had been stated at this time as to the cause of the fire.
