On Friday, the Hazard Bulldogs concluded their week of Homecoming with a district football game with the Jenkins Cavaliers. The Bulldogs had little trouble disposing of the Cavaliers as they collected the 52-0 win.
Jenkins got the ball first, but went nowhere. Hazard started their first possession near midfield, and wasted little time working their way to the end zone. The Bulldogs finished the drive with a 17-yard Tanner Morgan pass to Jason Johnson (Jacob Blanton caught the conversion), giving Hazard the 8-0 lead.
The Bulldogs got their second touchdown just minutes later. Chris Hudson turned a short pass into a 60-yard play for the touchdown. Morgan then ran in the conversion, putting Hazard up 16-0.
Before the first period ended, Hazard made their way into the end zone for another score. This time, Morgan ran the ball in from four yards out. Jason Johnson caught the conversion, setting the score at 24-0 at the end of the first period.
The clock was put in motion in the second period at the request of the Cavaliers. Hazard, however, was able to put two more touchdowns on the board. The first came on a 35-yard Brandon Jones run (Hudson caught the conversion), and the second on a Jacob Blanton fumble recovery that went 32 yards for the touchdown. The Bulldogs went into the break leading 38-0.
The Bulldogs collected a single touchdown in the third period. Juwan Hill ran nine yards up the sideline for the score, putting Hazard up 44-0.
The final Hazard score came late in the game. K. P. Hastings caught a Cole Ratliff pass and finished off the 45-yard touchdown play. Jimmy Perkins capped the drive with the conversion. The Bulldogs went on to win the game by the final count of 52-0.
