The Hazard Bulldogs boarded a bus on Friday and headed to Williamsburg to take on the Yellow Jackets. The Bulldogs came into the game with an 11-1 record, while the Yellow Jackets had posted a 9-2 record.

Due to the weather conditions, both teams were forced to use their ground attack against the other's always stingy defense. Williamsburg struck first, picking up a touchdown in the early moments of the game.

Hazard wasted little time erasing the Yellow Jacket touchdown. Brandon Jones capped a strong Bulldog drive with a 3-yard run. Kevin Eversole added the extra point to tie the game at seven.

Williamsburg came back with a 36-yard score, giving them the 14-7 advantage. Hazard would not be able to counter down the stretch, and eventually gave up their state title hold with the 21-7 loss.

The Bulldogs ended their season one game short of the region title, and came away with a strong 11-2 record (The record was modified after a KHSAA sanction against Fairview forced the Eagles to forfeit their win against the Bulldogs early in the season.).
