The Hazard Bulldogs hosted the Buckhorn Wildcats Friday in a 54th district matchup. Despite the give-and-take exchange of rallies during the game, the Bulldogs were able to best the Wildcats in every frame, leading them to the 74-53 win.

Hazard started with a strong run, only to see Buckhorn counter with a rally of their own. The final minutes of the period belonged to Hazard, giving them the 22-16 lead.

Buckhorn came out strong in the third period, and cut the lead to four at one point. Once again, Hazard was able to trump the Wildcats’ rally, and went on to the 55-40 lead with eight minutes left to play.

The Wildcats were determined to get back into the contest in the fourth quarter, making a strong bid early. But once again, Hazard had the answer. The Bulldogs went on to win the game by the final count of 74-53.
