On Friday, the Perry County Central Lady Commodores hosted the Leslie County Lady Eagles in a district match up. Lady Commodore Kayla Rankin surpassed the 3,000 point mark during the game, but it would not be enough to fend off the Lady Eagles.

Leslie County jumped out to the early lead as they hit three consecutive three-pointers to start the game. Perry Central picked up their defensive pressure, and secured the 20-19 lead at the horn.

The Lady Commodores led most of the second period, but gave up a sizable rally late. The Lady Eagles were able to go into the locker room up 35-31.

Perry Central went back on top early in the third quarter, but once again could not stop a late rally by Leslie County. With eight minutes remaining to play, the Lady Commodores trailed 44-45.

Perry Central opened the fourth quarter strong, and went up as many as eight during the frame. However, it would be Leslie County that controlled the game late. With less than a minute left to play, the Lady Eagles took the lead, and held on for the 70-66 win.
