Over the past several years, the Hazard Bulldog football team has enjoyed a great deal of success, and has drawn considerable attention from coaches on the next level. This week, all that dedication and hard work paid off for a trio of players as they signed their letter of intent to play college football.

A pair of linebackers will be moving on as Kody Arnett signed with Morehead State, and Jacob Roll signed with Cumberland University. On the offensive side of the ball, tight end Chris Hudson signed with Miami (Ohio) University.

Principal Happy Mobelini saw the event as a motivational tool for the younger players.

“This is a really important day for these kids, but just as important to the younger kids too,” Mobelini said. “The younger kids out there that’s sitting, more than anything else, you need to pay attention to this today. They’re doing this and everything’s working out for them, but if you don’t have the grades and all this other stuff, none of this tuff works out for you.”

Coach Mark Dixon said the day was not only a big day for the players, but for everyone who helped get the boys to this point in their fooball careers.

“They deserve what they’re getting here. They put a lot of hard work in over the years. And we’re just really proud of them that they can go on and further their education and play football. I am really proud of them and I wish them all the best of luck,” he said.
