The Perry County Central Lady Commodores took on the Powell County Lady Pirates on Saturday as part of the Swing Break tournament. The game came down to who had the biggest rally in the fourth inning, with the nod going to the Lady Commodores.


The game went scoreless until the third inning when the Lady Commodores managed to eek out a single run (1-0). The game then came down to a fourth inning shootout. Perry Central was able to get the better of the exchange 5-3, giving the Lady Commodores the 6-3 advantage.


Powell County was unable to score down the stretch, giving Perry Central the 6-3 win. The win gave the Lady Commodores a 3-0 record in the tournament, and a 4-0 record for the week.


Perry Central (6) Whitney Evans 2 runs, 1 hit, and 1 RBI; Shelby Sheffield 1 hit and 2 RBI; Mahala Walker 1 hit; Katie Pigman 1 run and 1 hit; Lana Shepherd 1 run and 1 hit; Lauryn Amburgey 1 run; and Madisson Minks 1 run and 1 RBI.
