Late last week, the Hazard Bulldogs traveled to Wolfe County for the finals of the All “A” baseball championship. The Bulldogs took on the Cordia Lions in the 14th region title game.


The Bulldogs used a steady offense early, crossing the plate once in each of the first three innings (3-0). Hazard then exploded for four runs in the fourth inning, and followed that up with a two run inning (9-0).


The seventh inning would be the put the Bulldogs over the top. The four runs Hazard scored in the seventh inning brought the game to an end, and earned the Bulldogs their eighth consecutive 14th region All “A” title.

Haynes 3 runs, 1 hit, and 2 RBI; Ryan Smith 2 runs, 2 hits, and 2 RBI; Griffin Wells 1 run, 2 hits, and 1 RBI; Cole Ratliff 2 hits and 2 RBI; Josh Meehan 1 hit; Rudy Akemon 1 run; Jacob Roll 2 runs and 2 hits; Connor Whitaker 2 runs and 2 hits; and Coby Cumbow 2 runs. Griffin Wells: 7 innins, 4 hits, 4 walks and 11 strikeouts.
