The Cubs and the Nationals rounded out the opening day of Little League in the park. The Nationals held the lead midway through, but could not hold on as the Cubs raced to the 15-8 win.

The Cubs took the 1-0 lead in the first inning, and it stood until the third inning when the Nationals went up 5-1. However, that would be their last advantage as the Cubs scored 10 runs in the bottom of the frame (11-5).

The Nationals chipped two runs off the lead (11-7) in the next inning, but turned around and gave the Cubs four runs (15-7). The final run belonged to the Nationals, but it would not be enough as the Cubs took the 15-8 win.

Cubs (15) Andrew Ford 3 hits and 2 runs; Donovan Stidham 3 hits and 4 runs; Ben Gambill 3 hits and 2 runs; Dawson Kersey 2 hits and 2 runs; Brayden Howard 1 run; Kaleb Neace 1 run; Dustin North 2 hits and 2 runs; and Bobby McDaniel 1 hit and 1 run.

Nationals (8) Micah Steele 1 run; Dawson Browning 1 hit and 1 run; Jarrod Napier 1 hit and 2 runs; Matt Goins 1 run; Nick Whitaker 1 hit and 1 run; Edan Neace 1 hit; Jacob Napier 1 hit; Mason Hensley 1 hit; and Gus Modlins 1 hit.
