The Perry County Central Commodores opened their 2014 soccer season with the Prestonsburg Blackcats. The Commodores dominated play throughout the contest, and came away with the 7-0 win.

The Commodores picked up their first goal at the 18 minute mark when Jacob Farris picked up the ball at the top of the box, and turned on the goalie for the shot in the upper corner (1-0). Ten minutes later, Zac Combs connected on a penalty kick (2-0).

Before Prestonsburg could adjust, Josh Lewis went for back-to-back goals. The first came off the assist by Brandon Wooton, and the second was a solo shot on the goalie (4-0). The score sent the team to the locker room.

No sooner than the second half started, Perry Central was back on the scoreboard. Chad Smith went back-to-back in just a few minutes. Smith pounded a penalty kick past the goalie, and then burned him on a shot from outside the box (6-0).

The Commodores rounded out their day with a solo shot by John Watts. Perry Central then settled back to complete the shutout (7-0), for their first win of the season.
