Four dead after Jenkins shooting

JENKINS — Four people are dead following a shooting in the early hours of Friday morning in Letcher County.


At approximately 1:56 a.m. Kentucky State Police in Hazard received a call concerning an apparent shooting at 11 Ginseng Dr. in the Jenkins community.


Upon arrival at the scene, police found three bodies. Timothy L. Shelby, 58, and Amy L. Ratliff, 31, both of Jenkins, and 33-year-old Joshua L. Wyatt, of McRoberts, were all pronounced dead at the scene. An additional body, 35-year-old Jennifer L. Walters, of Lexington, was found at 86 Oak St. in Jenkins and also pronounced dead at the scene.


The bodies were sent to the state medical examiner’s office for autopsies on Friday; all subjects appeared to have died from apparent gunshot wounds, according to the KSP who are still investigating the case.
