A boil water advisory was issued Tuesday affecting approximately 200 water customers in Hazard.

City Manager Carlos Combs issued the advisory following a waterline break in the northern section of the city, resulting in the possibility of bacterial contamination in the affected areas.

According to a release from City Hall, the advisory includes customers on Village Lane, Miss Edna Lane, Falcon Crest, Ridgeview, Dawahre Drive, and Veterans Drive.

As we head into this Thanksgiving holiday, if you live in the affected area make sure you boil water before use. The advisory will remain in effect until samples can be tested and the threat of contamination eliminated.
