HAZARD — A boil water advisory was issued today for the Fourseam community of Perry County.
Those living in the Fourseam community from Watts Lane up should be sure to boil any water they will be using for cooking or drinking, according to an advisory issued on Thursday, August 21, by the City of Hazard.
According to the advisory, the Kentucky Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Cabinet, Division of Water, determined that the potential exists for bacterial contamination of the Hazard water system in the affected area due to a main line water break.
The boil water advisory will remain in effect until the threat of contamination has been eliminated and appropriate samples have shown the water quality to be of acceptable standards.
