Unfortunately, it seems lately that much of the press coverage surrounding educational issues in our district has been both combative and negative in nature. This saddens me. I would like to break this trend and take this opportunity to voice my respect and appreciation for the Perry County School District.

I have pride in my school and the Perry County School District. I feel we are certainly headed in the right direction now with the resources that we have received this year. We have taken positive steps that will help me grow as an instructional leader, which in turn will help my teachers grow with the outcome of students being more college and career ready. The district has also taken the initiative to purchase our 8th through 12th graders their own technological tablet to help make them and our teachers to be better prepared for the 21st century. We also work tirelessly to improve our attendance by making our schools a place our students enjoy.

The guidance and support that I receive from the administration has exceeded my expectations and has made me challenge myself to be the best educator possible.

The sincere concern for the welfare and best interest of students and staff is consistently demonstrated. I feel that we are headed in the direction to have the ability to weigh and balance the complex challenges facing public education and reach the most equitable solutions possible for students, teachers, and support staff. The entire school district (all the employees, teachers, principals, support staff, central office staff, board members, and most importantly, our students) work diligently and efficiently to help with all aspects of school and staff needs.

Let me close in reiterating the high esteem I hold for the caring and highly professional staff at all of our schools and in our entire district. It is with pride and gratitude that I am a principal for the Perry County School District.

Deliliah Sue Brashear,

Principal
