The Perry County Central Commodores opened their 2013 preseason basketball schedule on Saturday. The Commodores took on 22 ft. Academy.


The Academy opened the game strong, and soon began to pull away from the Commodores. Perry Central began to claw back at the end of the first frame.


The Commodores put together a strong rally in the second period, and quickly made up the difference. At the break, the momentum was clearly in Perry Central’s court.


The third period belonged completely to the Commodores. Perry Central put together a strong defensive stand that stymied their opponents. On the other end of the court, they were lights out from all over the floor.


The Academy came back in the fourth quarter, but the Commodores would not go away. The fourth period ended in a tie.


Perry Central: Braxton Beverly 30, Justin Johnson 19, Damon Tobler 14, Matt Turner 2, Travis Stacy 6 and Austin Hill 4.
