On Thursday, the Perry County Central Lady Commodores crossed the hill to take on the Buckhorn Lady Wildcats. The Lady Commodores stayed one-step ahead of the Lady Wildcats throughout the game, and came away with the 67-34 win.


The Lady Commodores began to open up a lead in the first quarter, and at the horn they were up 21-11. Both teams’ scoring dropped off in the second period, with Perry Central going into the break with the 33-17 advantage.

Perry Central put the game on ice in the third quarter as they went up 53-24. Buckhorn pulled out all stops in the fourth quarter, but could not overcome their deficit. The Lady Commodores went on to win the game by the final count of 67-34.

Perry Central (67) Rankin 18, Evans 5, Combs 11, Coots 13, Gayhart 3, Watts 5, Sizemore 4, Minks 3 and Eddington 5.

Buckhorn (34) Rice 14, Couch 11, Neace 5, Henson 1 and Gabbard 3.
