Last week, the Buckhorn Wildcats traveled to Whitesburg to take on the Letcher Central Cougars. The game was too close to call throughout, with the Wildcats pulling out the 86-79 win in a hard fought battle.

The game was neck-and-neck in the first period, with the Wildcats narrowly pulling out the 20-18 lead. Little changed in the second period, with neither team gaining an advantage. Buckhorn went into the locker room with the 39-37 lead.

Letcher Central was able to take control of the tempo in the third period, and went on top 54-50. Buckhorn had a final burst of energy in the fourth quarter, and pulled away late for the 86-79 victory.
