Last week, the Buckhorn Wildcats hosted the Wolfe County Wolfes in high school baseball action. The Wildcats would need an extra frame to down the Wolfes as the game was knotted at zero at the end of regulation.


Buckhorn Scattered seven hits throughout the game, but it would be the final single by Shannon Blank that brought home Tim Baker with the game’s only run.


Richard Stidham garnered the win for the Wildcats as he went the distance, allowing no runs on no hits. Stidham walked 7 batters during the game, but countered that by striking out 23 of the 31 batters he faced.


Buckhorn (1) D. Hurley 2 hits; S. Blank 1 hit and 1 RBI; J. Stidham 1 hit; J. McQueen 1 hit; and T. Baker 1 hit and 1 run.
