Last week, the Hazard-Perry 13- and 14-year-olds took on the North Laurel all-stars. Hazard-Perry took the early lead, and held off a late rally by North Laurel to take the 13-10 win.


Hazard-Perry went up 5-1 in the first inning. After a scoreless second inning, Hazard-Perry jumped out to the 10-1 advantage.


North Laurel began to push for a comeback rally in the fourth inning. They scored a pair of runs in the fourth inning, and four more in the fifth inning (10-7).


Hazard-Perry erased three of those runs in the sixth inning to go up 13-7. North Laurel put together a rally in the seventh inning, but Hazard-Perry cut it short at three runs, earning the 13-10 win.
