The Hazard Lady Bulldogs completed a task last season that had on be accomplished since volleyball was instated as a high school sport. The Lady Bulldogs unseated the Letcher County Lady Cougars as region champs. The 14th region had not sent a representative that was not from Letcher County to the state tournament in its history.

Hazard will put five experienced players on the floor this season, including one of the regions top players in Hope Clark who is just an 8th grader. They will need to incorporate their incoming six players into the mix if they are going to be successful.

According to coach Muncy, “we will need to work hard to improve our skills this season”. Improving their skills is a short term goal that Coach Muncy has set for her team.

If things work out in the early season, coach Muncy has set a long term goal of going back to the state tournament. The Lady Bulldogs will have a target on their backs as they are the 14th region defending champions.
