The Hazard Lady Bulldog soccer team finished last season with a 10-9 record, but failed to get out of the district. The Lady Bulldogs will have a new coach directing them this season as Effie Stidham takes over the team. Coach Stidham remarked, “We would like to be in the discussion come tournament time.”

The Lady Bulldogs return three seniors and two juniors, all of which made substantial contributions last season. They also have a very large sophomore class, and several freshmen.

When asked about their short term goals, Coach Stidham replied, “The challenge will be to combine the experienced players and our younger players into a cohesive unit, especially as the newer players learn the system. I must say, though, that our players’ attitudes have been phenomenal.”

As for the Lady Bulldogs’ long range goals, “Our goals are to gradually improve as our players learn the system and gain experience. To be competitive in all our matches, and to be in the discussion come tournament time.”
