Imperative teachers’ pension funded

By Norma Noble - President of Perry County Retired Teachers Association

Dear State Representative Chris Fugate,

Congratulations on your successful campaign for Kentucky State Representative. We are very appreciative of work done to fund the teachers’ pension. I am president of our local Perry County Retired Teachers Association. I want to impress upon you the importance of keeping our pension funded.

Kentucky retired teachers do not get social security. My husband was also a teacher. He died in a boating accident when I was 36. I don’t receive his benefits or his social security. I am amazed at how much everything costs. My pension is my only source of income and it is difficult sometimes making it stretch at the end of the month. It is imperative that our pension is fully funded and that the pension stays a defined benefit with a guaranteed cola.

Please impress upon the legislature to stay on track and fund the Kentucky teachers’ pension plan,

Sincerely,

Norma Noble, President of Perry County Retired Teachers Association.
