WKCB radio hosted a 14th Region media day Tuesday afternoon at Hazard High School, where several of the region’s basketball coaches discussed the upcoming season with WKCB personality Drum Thornsbury. Boys’ basketball coaches John Noble of Buckhorn, Al Holland of Hazard, and Kevin Spurlock of Perry Central attended, as did boys’ and girls’ coaches from Leslie County, Letcher Central, Knott Central, and Cordia. Hazard’s boys’ team will kick off their regular season on Nov. 27 on the road against Owsley County. Perry Central will go on the road against Cordia on Nov. 27, while Buckhorn will welcome Owsley County to Buckhorn High School for a match-up on Nov. 29.
