Alfred Strong, 100, of Hazard, died Thursday, June 7 at the Hazard ARH medical center.
He was a retired mechanic and the son of the late William “Bill” Strong and the late Mary Ellen Howard Strong. He was also preceded in death by a host of brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Strong; daughter Brenda Deaton; sons James S. Strong and Jeffery S. Strong; grandchildren Donald R. Deaton, Randall S. Deaton and John Paul Gibson; and great-grandchildren Daniel Scott and Autumn Paige.
Arrangements are being handled by Maggard Brothers Funeral Home of Hazard, where the family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 9. Services will immediately follow with Bill Gambill officiating. Interment will be at Cornett Cemetery in Wabaco.
