Asbel “Sonny” Shepherd, 67, of Cornettsville, died Monday, Dec. 3 at the hospice care center in Hazard.
He is survived by his son, Jeffery Scott Shepherd of Cornettsville; daughter Diane Smith of Cornettsville; brothers Otis Ray Shepherd, Hoblee Shepherd, and Arthur Junior Shepherd; sister Nadine Shepherd; and two grandchildren.
Arrangements are being handled by Brashear-Callahan Funeral Home of Viper. Visitation will be held Wednesday, Dec. 5 at 6 p.m. at the Big Leatherwood Old Regular Baptist Church. Services will begin at noon at the church on Thursday, Dec. 6. Burial will take place at Arch Halcomb Cemetery.
