A boil water advisory is in effect for approximately 50 customers near the Lower Second Creek community.

Hazard City Manager Carlos Combs issued the advisory late Tuesday morning, noting that a main waterline break has created the potential for bacterial contamination in the water for those customers. The advisory is in effect from the bridge at Flat Gap to the end of the street, which comprises roughly 50 meters in total.

Customers along this line of the system are advised to boil their water before use until samples can be tested that show any contamination has been removed.
