The Perry County Central Commodores got off to a good start last season under new head coach Justin Haddix. The Commodores started the season 6-0, but finished the season with a 7-4 record. This season Perry Central is looking to improve on that mark, and make a run in the playoffs.

Perry Central graduated a dozen seniors off last year's team, a couple of which had season ending injuries. The Commodores will be returning 10 seniors to this year's team, many of whom are at key skills positions.

The Commodores made an excellent showing in Pikeville College's passing league tournament last week. Perry Central won the event, going 7-0 on the day. Their only scrimmage game of the preseason will be August 12.

The Commodores play in one of the most competitive districts in the state, and are looking to finish well in district play while making a good run in the playoffs. Things should go well for Perry Central this season as they will field one of the area's most potent offenses. The Commodores will be well prepared for district play this season as they have posted one of the toughest schedules in the state.
