Evelyn Roberts, 53, of Eubank (formerly of Perry County), died Friday, May 5, 2006 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset. She was the daughter of Oma Combs Feltner and the late Arlis Feltner. She is also survived by her husband, Kenneth Ray Roberts, Sr; 2 sons, Kenneth Ray Roberts, ll of Orient, OH; Jesse Ray Roberts of Somerset; 1 brother, Roscoe Feltner of Eubank; 2 daughters, Naomi Lee and Rick Goff of Somerset; Rachel Lynn Hogue Roberts of Somerset; 8 sisters, Sandra and Robert Roberts and Elizabeth Morgan, all of Eubank; Donna Shaw of Greenville, TN; Loretta and Frank Sizemore, Dianna Feltner, Regenia Sizemore, Lillian and Wayne Shepherd, Deborah and Larry Everidge, all of Hazard; 8 grandchildren, Brittany Ann Roberts, Kenneth Ray Roberts, lll, Michael Shane Roberts, Winston Edgar Hall, Emily Rose Hogue, Evelyn Lynette Summer Roberts, Nathaniel Ray Wesley and Abby Gayle Raelynn Goff. Funeral was conducted Sunday, May 7, 2006 at the Chapel of Morris and Hislope Funeral Home in Science Hill. Bro. Enoch Wagers officiated with burial in the Feltner-Freeman Cemetery. William Cager “W.C.”Haddix

William Cager “W.C” Haddix, 86, of Hazard, passed away April 27,2006 at home after an extended illness. He was the son of the late Bradley and Mary Grigsby Haddix. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Joyce Horton and brother, George M. Haddix. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Alta Mae New Haddix, 1 sister, Myrtle Sumner and husband Delmos of Science Hill; 1 daughter, Shelly Brashear and husband Neil of Hazard; 1 son, Randall Haddix and wife Mary Lou of Hazard; 1 son-in-law, Joe Bill Horton of Ewing, VA; 4 granddaughters, Lori Haddix of Hazard; Dawn Bastille and husband Rob of Hagerstown, MD; Carey Cosby and husband Brian of Harrogate, TN; and Christine Smith of Ewing, VA; 1 grandson, Bill Horton and wife Lisa of Ewing, VA; 7 great-granddaughters, Madison Horton of Ewing, VA; Laura, Stephanie and Erica Bastille, all of Hagerston, MD; Brittney Cosby of Harrogate, TN; Abigail and Emily Smith of Ewing, VA; 2 great-grandsons, Alex Brashear of Hazard; Reece Horton of Ewing, VA; host of friends and relatives. He was a retired staff engineer of the Kentucky Power Company as well as a member and past master of the Hazard Masonic Lodge 676, and a Scottish Rite Mason, member of the Indra Consistory in Covington. Visitation was held at the Maggard Brothers Funeral Home in Hazard, on April 29, 2006 with funeral services on April 30, 2006 at 2:00 pm at the funeral home chapel. The funeral was directed by Pastor James Hamblin, with Masonic Rites performed. Burial was at Riverside Cemetery in Hazard.

George Edward Minks, Sr

George Edward Minks, Sr., 55, of Scuddy, died Thursday, May 4, 2006 at the Hazard Medical Center. He was the son of Fred B. Minks, Sr. and the late Millie Wells Minks. He is also survived by his wife Rhonda Minks; 1 daughter, Erica M. Minks of Scuddy; 3 sons, George E. Minks, ll of Viper; Mark A. Minks and Matthew S. Minks, both of Scuddy; 1 sister, Brenda Hill of Scuddy; 4 brothers, Fred Minks, Jr of Hazard; Charles Minks of Scuddy; Johnny Minks and Oscar Minks, both of Viper; 2 grandchildren. Funeral was conducted Sunday, May 7, 2006 at the the Grace Missionary Baptist Church with Nathan Long officiating, burial in the Minks Family Cemetery in Viper. Maggard Brothers Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Eddie Hurley, 58, of Vicco, died Thursday, May 4, 2006 at Holston Valley Hospital in Kingsport, TN. He is survived by his wife, Maggie Joe Hurley of Vicco; 2 daughters, Lisa Couch and Alexas Joe Adams, both of Vicco; 4 sons, Nathan Eddie Hurley of Vicco; Michael Brant Hurley of CA; Doug Hurley and Eddie Allen Hurley, both of IN; 1 sister, Allene Faye Sumner of IN; 2 brothers, Ronald and Ralph Hurley, both of Vicco; 6 grandchildren; host of nieces and nephews. Dylan Chase Combs

Dylan Chase Combs, 14, of Hazard, died Tuesday, May 2, 2006 at U.K. Medical Center in Lexington. Dylan was a student at Wabaco Christian Academy. He was preceded in death by his father, Curtis Wayne Combs. He is survived by his mother and step-father, Jennifer Combs Campbell and William; grandparents, Jim and Judy Campbell, Curtis and Lois Combs; 1 brother, Derek Wayne Combs; 2 step-brothers, James Campbell and Jonathan Campbell; host of family and friends. Funeral was conducted Friday, May 5, 2006 at Maggard's Mountain View Chapel with Rev. Jack Whitaker and Rev. Larry Gross officiating, burial in the Combs Family Cemetery in Gregory Branch. Lillian Marie Fugate, 75, of Viper, died Thursday, May 4, 2006 at the Hazard Medical Center. She is survived by her husband, Lewis Fugate of Viper; 1 daughter, Anna Lois Arnold of Winchester; 1 son, Larry Fugate of Viper; 2 half-sisters, JoAnn Day and Martha Sparkman, both of Jeff; 1 half-brother, Charlie Cole of Berea; 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren. Funeral was conducted Monday, May 8, 2006 at Brashear Funeral Home Chapel with Clayburn Johnson officiating, burial in the Callie Farler Cemetery in Viper. Funeral was conducted Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Frankfort with Rev. Marcis Woodyard and Rev. Todd Lester officiating, burial in the Sunset Memorial Gardens. She is survived by her husband, Paulis Bailey; 1 daughter, Nicki Pflum; 4 step-daughters, Hazel Campbell, Dena Hoskins, Paula Goald, Alice Day; 1 son, Johnny Lee Johnson; 2 step-sons, Joey and Dale Bailey; 2 sisters, Louise Estep, Martha Lou Butler; 1 brother, James B. Martin; 12 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, host of neces, nephews, family and friends. Funeral will be conducted today, Wednesday, May 10, 2006 at Maggard's Mountain View Chapel with Larry Gross and Teddy Bailey officiating, burial in the Fugate Cemetery in Campbells Creek.
